Tour Itinerary

Day 1:Marrakech — High Atlas — Draa Valley — Nkob

Your journey begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech. We head south, climbing the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), the highest road pass in North Africa. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking mountain scenery and traditional Berber villages perched on the hillsides.

After crossing the Atlas, the landscape transforms into the vast palm groves of the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s longest rivers and home to centuries-old fortified villages.

Arrive in Nkob, famously known as the “Village of 45 Kasbahs.” After lunch, a local guide leads a short walking tour through the village, sharing stories of its architecture, tribal history, and desert lifestyle.

As the day ends, witness a beautiful sunset over the rocky desert landscape.

Dinner and overnight in a traditional Serdrar Desert bivouac camp, offering a peaceful and authentic desert atmosphere.

Day 2:Nkob → Jbel Saghro → Dades Valley → Monkey Fingers Trek

After breakfast, drive through the rugged landscapes of Jbel Saghro, crossing the scenic Tizi n’Tazazart Pass, famous for its volcanic rock formations.

Arrive in Dades Valley around midday.

After lunch, begin a 3.5–4 hour guided trek starting from Tamlalt. Walk through the famous Monkey Fingers rock formations (Doigts de Singe) and pass traditional Berber villages such as Aït Arbi and Aït Idir.

After the trek, stop at the Tizrin panoramic viewpoint overlooking the winding Dades Gorge road.

Dinner and overnight in a riad or hotel in Dades Valley.

Day 3:Dades Valley → Boutaghrar → Trek to Tabarkhachte

After breakfast, transfer toward the peaceful M’Goun Valley (Valley of Roses).

Arrive in Boutaghrar (Bou Tharar) and begin a scenic valley trek toward Tabarkhachte (approximately 3–4 hours walking).

The trail passes:

  • Riverbeds
  • Almond trees
  • Terraced fields
  • Traditional adobe Berber homes

This is one of the most authentic walking days of the tour, far from mass tourism.

Arrive in Tabarkhachte in the afternoon.

Dinner and overnight in a traditional guesthouse.

Day 4:Tabarkhachte → Rose Valley → Skoura → High Atlas → Marrakech

After breakfast, begin the return journey.

Drive through the fragrant Rose Valley, with a stop at a local Rose Cooperative to learn how Damascus roses are transformed into perfumes and oils.

Continue through the palm groves of Skoura Oasis, known as the “Land of a Thousand Kasbahs.”

Optional stop in Ouarzazate for photos of Taourirt Kasbah.

Cross the High Atlas Mountains once again and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
